The Ultimate Morning Routine.

Make the most of your morning with a quick routine to set yourself up for a productive and fulfilling day. Whether you have 6 minutes or 60 minutes, spending just a minute or more on the following areas will help you stay present.

Try to start your morning with SAVERS.

  • S-Silence

    • Take a moment in the morning for quiet mindfulness or meditation. This helps us decrease stress and any anxiety we are feeling about the tasks ahead in our day. We all deserve a moment of calm to start our morning.

  • A-Affirmation

    • Give yourself some praise for showing up to do reflection. Take a moment to be your own cheerleader and share some positive energy with yourself.

  • V-Visualization

    • Visualize something you are working toward; this can be work-related, recreation-related, or any goal you seek to accomplish. Remind yourself of where you want to go and visualize what that looks like.

  • E-Exercise

    • This can be any movement from a short stretch, walk with your dog, PT exercises (wink, wink), or a fitness class.

  • R- Read

    • If you are a newspaper reader, this is an easy one for you! Anything goes for this section.

  • S-Scribe

    • Journaling is such a helpful way to get some thoughts out of our brains. I prefer old fashion pen to paper, and this can be anything as simple as a word or phrase of the day. Try a "Brain Dump" where you get as many thoughts out of your head and onto paper as possible. It's nice to have a hard copy of your ideas to look back through over time.
